Sony Xperia Z3 May Have Pink Spots Issue
Users who have taken pictures with the Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact discovered pink blotches in images they snap with the rear-facing camera. Users have distributed sample images and these spots do noticeable. Some users say that the issue can be repeated when they use separate units. It appears that the pink spots are more noticeable when they take pictures outdoors.
Sony has advised users to adjust the white balance to solve this problem. But, although white balance adjustment could remove some pink spots, it could cause inaccurate color reproduction. Users have tried to factory reset their devices, but this doesn’t fix the issue. For some people who take pictures frequently, this problem could be serious enough that they are willing to break their contract or switch to different phones.
The same issue affected the Apple iPhone 5 when it was first released. Users also notice purple spots in pictures they took. Unfortunately, Apple argued that it is something normal and the company issued an official instruction on how to remove purple flares from the photos. Overall, pink spots could be caused by how the camera reacts with the presence of sunlight.
