Five Codenames of Upcoming Nokia Devices Leaked
Once again, @evleaks gives us a hint on Nokia’s upcoming devices. The tweet mentions a list of possible code names to be used by upcoming Nokia devices. A couple of names are associated with the “James Bond” universe – MoneyPenny and Goldfinger. The other three seem to be randomly selected – Spinel, Phantom and Normandy.
It is worth considering that Spinel or MgAl2O4 is a magnesium-aluminum oxide mineral, so this could suggest an Aluminum-clad Lumia handset. The Godfinger could be a device with gold-colored chassis and MoneyPenny could be an affordable device. The other names may be open to any interpretation.
Thanks to Nokia’s impressive new devices, including the Lumia 1020 and 1520, the Windows Phone platform has finally picked up some momentum this year. With the GDR3 update, upcoming Lumia devices could finally support high-resolution 1080p display and quad-core processors.
The new Lumia 1520 is the company’s first smartphone model that can rival any high-end Android devices in the market. Nokia’s proprietary PureView camera technology also allows these phones to produce great images both on normal and low-light environments. Windows Phone devices only manage to capture about 4 percent of the market share in the United States in Q3 this year, but the platform is seeing some growth in some European countries.
