Kyocera Hydro Plus Arrives to Cricket Mobile
Kyocera has released multiple smartphone models in the United States and the most recent one is sold as the Kyocera Hydro Plus. With a suggested retail price of $139.99 the phone is reasonably cheap for off-contract subscribers of Cricket Wireless. Like other Hydro models, the new Hydro Plus also has waterproofed chassis with IPX7 certification. The rugged chassis could withstand a 30-minute immersion one meter in the water.
Specs-wise, there’s nothing particularly impressive about the Hydro Plus. It has 3.5-inch 320 x 480 HVGA IPS display, somewhat outdated 1GHz Snapdragon MSM8655 single-core processor, 3.2Mp rear-facing snapper with LED flash, 2GB of RAM and 512MB of RAM.
However, it’s good to know that the phone already comes with a 4GB of microSD card and it could operate for 8.5 hours straight when used for voice call. Both Kyocera and Cricket don’t say anything about the Android version of the phone; but we could be hopeful to get Android 4.4 KitKat; since it is optimized for low-resources smartphones. Cricket adds the Muve Music 4.0 service to users; as well as reasonably attractive service plans. Subscribers could purchase it from Cricket’s physical and online stores.
